  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 dessertspoon vanilla extract

For fig mixture:

  • 400 grams dried figs
  • 1 cup  shelled hazelnut

For the topping:

  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Tips for Making Fig Tart

Make sure that the ingredients in the recipe like eggs and butter are at the room temperature. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes so that you can roll it easily with a rolling pin.

How to Make Fig Tart?

  1. For the fig mixture, cut the stem off the figs and soak them in the warm water to soften for 10 minutes.  Cut the figs in half and place them into a food processor. Add shelled hazelnut and grind them until mashed.
  2. Whisk the egg and powdered sugar in a deep mixing bowl. Add yoghurt, butter, vanilla extract, stiffed flour and baking powder respectively. Knead all ingredients until mixed and purified.
  3. Cut one quarter of the dough and place it in the deep freezer. Flour the counter and roll the rest of the dough to 1-2 cm thickness with a rolling pin.
  4. Grace the round baking tray or pie pan lightly and press the dough into the pan carefully. Prick it in some places with the tip of a fork. Pour and spread the fig mixture over it.
  5. Remove the dough from the deep freezer. Grate the dough over the fig mixture using the thick side of the grater. Press lightly on them and let them stick to the fig mixture.
  6. Bake the fig tart with dough crumble in preheated oven at 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Sift the powdered sugar on it after removing from the oven, slice it and share with your beloved ones.
